Our Privacy Promise
Kobi is designed for families with children. We never collect photos of your child, we only use your child's first name for personalization, and we comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act), GDPR, and CCPA regulations.

- Child's First Name: Used only to personalize activity books and storybooks (e.g., "[Name]'s Japan Adventure")
- Child's Age Bracket: Used to adjust activity difficulty (e.g., 2-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13+ years)
- Parent/Guardian Email: Required for account creation and support correspondence
- Activity Preferences: Selected themes, destinations, and page choices
- Sign-In Information: When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from those services to create your account
1.2 Anonymous Usage
You can use basic features of Kobi without creating an account. If you later choose to sign up with Google, Apple, or email, your anonymous activity data (such as saved books and game progress) may be linked to your new account.
1.3 What We DO NOT Collect
- NO photos of children - We never ask for, collect, or store photos of your child
- NO precise location data - We do not track your location
- NO social media profiles - We do not connect to social accounts
- NO voice recordings - We do not record audio
- NO exact birthdates - We only collect age brackets
1.4 Automatically Collected Information
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version
- Usage Analytics: App session duration, features used (anonymized and aggregated)
- Performance Data: Crash reports and performance metrics to improve stability
1.5 AI-Generated Content Disclosure
Kobi uses Google's Gemini API to generate personalized activity books and storybooks. Here's what you should know:
- Prompts sent to the AI include only your child's first name and age bracket
- AI-generated images do not depict your child - they feature Kobi Fox mascot
- Generated content is created fresh each time and is not permanently stored by the AI provider
- Content is for entertainment and educational purposes
2. How We Use Your Information
- Generate personalized activity books with your child's name
- Customize arcade game difficulty based on age bracket
- Save your generated books to your device library
- Improve app experience and fix bugs
- Process subscriptions and purchases
- Respond to support requests
3. Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage: Generated PDF activity books and storybooks are stored locally on your device
- Cloud Sync: If you create an account, your books and game progress are securely synced to the cloud (Firebase) so you can access them across devices
- Offline Functionality: Generated content works offline. Sync occurs automatically when you reconnect to the internet
- Security: Industry-standard encryption for all transmitted data
- No External Sharing: PDFs you export stay on your device - we don't have access to them
4. Data Sharing
We do NOT sell, trade, or rent your personal information or your child's information to third parties.
We may share anonymous, aggregated data with:
- Firebase: Authentication, analytics, and cloud storage
- Google Gemini API: AI content generation (receives only name and age bracket)
- RevenueCat: Subscription management - receives only your account identifier and purchase history to manage subscriptions (no child information is shared)
All partners are bound by confidentiality agreements and comply with applicable privacy laws.
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Kobi is designed for use by children with parental supervision. We take the following measures to protect children's privacy:
- The app can be used with basic features without account creation
- Parent/guardian email is required for full features and account management
- Parents can request complete data deletion at any time
- No behavioral advertising is targeted at children
- No social features or user-generated content sharing between users
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent
6. Parental Rights and Controls
As a parent or guardian, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of data we hold about your child
- Correction: Update your child's name or age bracket
- Deletion: Request complete removal of your child's data. You can delete your account directly in the app via Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing us
- Restriction: Limit how we process your data
- Portability: Export your data in a standard format

7. Data Retention
- Account Data: Retained until you delete your account
- Generated PDFs: Stored locally on your device only - you control deletion
- Analytics Data: Retained for up to 26 months (anonymized)
- Support Correspondence: Retained for up to 3 years
8. PDF Export and Sharing
- PDFs are generated and stored locally on your device
- Sharing is controlled entirely by the parent/guardian
- We do not have access to exported PDFs
- No cloud backup of generated content occurs without your explicit action
9. Subscription and Purchases
- Processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
- Subject to the respective platform's privacy policies
- We receive only transaction confirmations (not payment details)
10. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international data transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses where required.
