How to delete your Kobi account and data

1. How to Delete Your Account (In-App)

You can delete your account directly from the Kobi app by following these steps:

  1. Open the Kobi app
  2. Tap the Settings icon
  3. Tap Account
  4. Tap Delete Account
  5. Re-authenticate your identity for security (Google, Apple, or email/password)
  6. Confirm deletion in the confirmation dialog

Once confirmed, your account and associated data will be permanently deleted.

2. What Data Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

  • User profile and preferences (child name, age bracket, selected themes)
  • Saved progress (arcade scores, badges, book generation history)
  • Book metadata (activity books and storybooks stored in Firestore)
  • Authentication credentials (email/password, linked Google or Apple sign-in)
  • Locally stored books and storybooks on the device
  • Cloud-synced content associated with your account

All user data is permanently removed. This action cannot be undone. Please make sure you have exported any books or content you wish to keep before deleting your account.

3. What Data Is NOT Deleted

Active subscriptions are not automatically cancelled. You must cancel your subscription separately through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) before deleting your account. See Section 6 below for instructions.

  • Anonymized analytics data — aggregated usage data that cannot be linked back to your identity

4. Can't Access the App?

If you are unable to access the app, you can request account deletion by email:

  1. Send an email to fuzzylogicgamingstudio@gmail.com
  2. Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
  3. Include the email address associated with your Kobi account
  4. We will verify your identity and process the request

5. Deletion Timeline

  • Immediate: Account access is revoked, user data is deleted from Firestore, and authentication credentials are removed
  • Up to 30 days: Backup systems and caches are fully purged

Timeline summary: Your account is deactivated and data deleted immediately upon confirmation. Any residual copies in backup systems are removed within 30 days.

6. Active Subscriptions

Deleting your Kobi account does not cancel active subscriptions. To avoid continued charges, cancel your subscription before deleting your account:

  • iOS (App Store): Open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → select Kobi → Cancel Subscription
  • Android (Google Play): Open Google Play → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → select Kobi → Cancel subscription
